El Jadida: Step into the Historic Heart of Morocco's Atlantic Coast
Formerly known as Mazagan, this city built by the Portuguese is proudly held in front of the ocean since the 16th century. The excellent preservation of its architectural treasures and the fabulous mix of influences between Moroccan and European cultures have earned it a World Heritage List by UNESCO.
By visiting the mysterious cistern and its majestic arches, lovers of the 7th art will recognize some of the sets used by Orson Wells in "Othello". Even today, multiple film and television productions come to benefit each year from the assets of El Jadida.
Between a lush eucalyptus forest and the beautiful beach of El Haouzia, the group Kerzner International, at the origin of the Atlantis complex in Dubai, also took the opportunity to create the lavish seaside resort of Mazagan.
